Quality assurance in casting
KONCAST has collaborated with the PtU Darmstadt (Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines at Darmstadt Technical University) on a case study about quality assurance in casting. Our work just goes to show how beneficial it can be when science and industry come together.
As part of the third case study, the students focused on quality assurance in casting and carried out tests on a small series manufactured aluminium casting component. This was the perfect opportunity for the students to put to use the knowledge they had learnt about casting materials on their course whilst also carrying out quality assurance on an actual component. It also gave them an interesting insight into the specific aspects of aluminium casting.
