The BÖLLINGER GROUP once again sets new benchmarks in advanced manufacturing.
For REEN, we produced the world’s first 3D-printed, air-cooled GT3-inspired cylinder head –
a high-performance component that combines cutting-edge additive manufacturing with precision CNC machining and uncompromising quality standards.
This project highlights how innovative metal 3D printing enables entirely new design freedoms while meeting the extreme demands of high-performance automotive engineering.
The manufacturing process began with aluminum powder, which was transformed into a complex functional component through a 168-hour additive manufacturing process.
Layer by layer, the cylinder head was built with exceptional precision, enabling intricate internal cooling channels and geometries that are virtually impossible to achieve using conventional manufacturing methods.
Following the 3D printing process, the component underwent high-precision CNC machining and extensive quality inspections to ensure maximum dimensional accuracy, durability and performance under extreme operating conditions.
Together with MUNIQ Design GmbH and videographer Moritz Staudte, the entire production journey was documented across all three BÖLLINGER GROUP locations.
The result is a compelling behind-the-scenes insight into modern high-performance manufacturing – from digital design and additive production to final finishing and inspection.
