Additive manufacturing opens nearly unlimited possibilities for producing complex components required in the commercial vehicle industry.
Using LPBF technology (Laser Powder Bed Fusion), metal parts up to 800 mm in their longest dimension can be manufactured – large, complex, and without additional welding or assembly.
This technology also presents challenges: increasing precision requirements, ever more complex designs, and the need for highly efficient processes demand top performance from both production teams and machinery.
Since its founding in 2012 as part of the BÖLLINGER GROUP, our Übach-Palenberg facility has specialized in prototypes, small series, and complex components.
Our expertise in additive manufacturing allows us to produce even very large and complex parts as a single piece.
A key factor is the optimized generation of support structures, which is essential for metal 3D printing. Our experienced specialists develop precise support strategies to ensure the highest quality and dimensional accuracy.
Our Übach-Palenberg facility serves customers across a wide range of industries, including automotive, commercial vehicles, aerospace, medical technology, energy, and defense.
We support our customers from development through to small-series production and advise on manufacturability, functional integration, and added value through additive manufacturing.
All components are delivered ready to install, including high-quality CNC machining and comprehensive quality control. This allows our customers to benefit directly from innovative solutions without additional production steps.
A standout project is the production of intake manifolds for the Unimog H2 engine, a key component in the intake system of next-generation hydrogen powertrains.
Using two parallel lasers, fine metal powder is melted layer by layer in a highly controlled inert gas atmosphere.
The result: highly precise, leak-tested components with better mechanical properties than conventional cast products.
Leak-proofing is particularly critical, as leaks can pose a safety risk – all parts are strictly tested at our Übach-Palenberg facility before delivery.
Our Übach-Palenberg facility stands for sustainable and innovative manufacturing in the commercial vehicle industry.
By combining cutting-edge 3D printing technology, precise CNC machining, and years of experience, we meet the growing demands of the sector.
Customers benefit from tailored, high-precision solutions that reduce development time, improve components, and unlock new possibilities for vehicle production.
